It is the only stand I use anymore, except for a Lone Wolf hang on that I use with some treated ladders I have scattered around. I can't believe anyone could have trouble climbing with the sit and climb. No stand is perfect for everything that's why I have soooo many!!!! Good Hunting. I will be looking at the Open shot made by Summit soon because I have used Summit stands in the past and have loved them all. It serves a specific purpose for me to be able to get in and out of some hard to reach places. It is a very quite stand to use and I like that. After some practice I have gotten better at climbing with it but you do have to slow down a bit. After several modifications!!! I do like that it is light weight and easy to pack a long distance and you can slip hunt with it on your back. The folding mechanics of the stand are completely useless and way too much trouble to even bother with. I don't like the lack of comfort, I don't like the fact that the belts reflect like a mirrow, I don't like that the seat won't get out of my way easily when I want to stand up to make a shot, I don"t like the fact that you spend a fortune for the stand and it didn't come with a simple grommet for the built in bow holder. Kurt: I bought the Alpha hand climber and the first time I tried to climb with it I hated it, same problems. To me it seems very slow-going!!! I will say it is very confortable and quiet.Īnyone else having trouble like this? Any suggestions? I almost wish I bought the hand climber-seems simpler-but consider the source-me!!Īlso-if you gun hunt-can the bar be used as a rest? Mine swings freely and won't stay in a fixed position. If I get the top portion low, I can't get the belt off the tree on the bottom part and have to go back up. I am still having a hard time 'climbing.' I feel like I am too close to the tree and have a tough time going down the tree. I got the belts the right length and it sat nice and level. I'm sure with practice it will get better?!?! I also had one heck of a time climbing! It seems like I am too close to the tree to get much height on each stroke! Then the seat got all twisted up and had to spin it all around to get it right! Then hoping over the bar called for some advanced gymnastics, with the platform being at such an angle. The first time out, I gad the strap too long and the bottom platform was angliong down at a bad angle. OK-I bought the sit and climb after using an OLD Warrwen and Sweat hand climber for years.
